Nick Davies, founder and visionary, has visited over 80 countries and has notched up 40-years’ of experience in hotels and in travel around the globe. The driving focus of the company was simple. Offer travel professionals an efficient, courteous and quality focused service backed up by team members who are all passionate about travel. Darah Travel today has become one of Belize’s most respected tourism entities.
Darah Travel offers a complete range of accommodations, transfers, and touring options to singles, couples, families, events, destination weddings, and small and mid-sized groups to travel trade worldwide. We also offer the entire region from Mexico down to Panama through our regional partners and create tailor-made itineraries as well as.
And about the name, the company is named after their daughter Darah who is now starting her love of travel and supporting the company initially with marketing and digital help while still finishing her education. Please meet the beautiful people behind Darah Travel.
Nick was born and raised in West Africa, where his parents were working for many years, educated in the UK, and has worked in Europe, the Caribbean, Canada, Central America and South America in travel, hotels and tourism for over 40 years.
His career, highlighted by working in hotels and travel, across several continents, has taken him to over 80 countries, and he arrived in Belize after living and working the previous 11 years in the Dutch Caribbean. He opened the first uber luxurious jungle lodge in Belize, the first of its kind at that time. Afterwards, he met the love of his life, Shannon, who is from the capital city Belmopan, and decided to set up Darah Travel, which is named after their daughter.
The plan was simple – Set up an agency fuelled by passionate and expert travel professionals, and offer visitors and travel partners a top-quality service and many memorable experiences.

Today, the 3 key managers each have over 10 years working at Darah Travel. Nick and Shannon could not be any prouder than when they meet travel companies worldwide at shows, to be quickly told how amazing the Darah Travel team is at delivering a perfect trip to every customer , from leadership,travel planners, logistics, guides and accounting.
The family now share their time between the UK and Belize, so from our family – Nick, Shannon, Jaegan, Danai and of course Darah, who are all involved in some way or other in the business, please allow us to introduce our extended family and the real ‘rock stars’ of Darah Travel.

Guatemala Travel Expert
Leslie joined Darah Travel in 2026, bringing extensive experience in the Guatemalan tourism industry and a deep knowledge of the country’s destinations and tourism products. Throughout her career, she has crafted and coordinated tailor-made journeys across Guatemala, working closely with hotels, tour operators, transportation providers, guides, and international travel partners. She is passionate about sharing the beauty, culture, and traditions of her country and enjoys creating meaningful experiences for travellers. As Darah Travel develops its Guatemala operation, Leslie looks forward to bringing her local knowledge and experience to the team, while continuing to discover new experiences and opportunities to showcase Guatemala to travellers around the world.

Jennies’ journey into travel has been full of milestones. During her tenure, she has become a wife and the mother of two beautiful children. She has nurtured Darah Travel into the successful and caring travel partner it is today. Her calm, welcoming and efficient approach to planning and keeping the “show on the road” in all seasons, has created the benchmark by which the company is known. Jennie boasts she has two families; her own and Darah Travel! Successfully balancing both, she is loved and admired by her family, colleagues and travel partners worldwide. Jennie is fluent in English, Spanish and good business practices. Jennie will be a key member of the Guatemala team in assisting Leslie with operational and tactical support.

Nick & Shannon set up Darah Travel in Belize in 2010 to serve the travel industry with an attentive and quality focused travel company. As they travelled extensively throughout Central America over many years and selling multi country itineraries through partners out of Belize, the desire to set up a Guatemala office was long in the planning. Meeting Leslie, with over 20 years experience in designing and selling Guatemala trips, made that decision easy to make, and in August 2026 they decided to extend Darah Travel across borders and they are excited to be able to bring under one umbrella regional services in Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and Salvador and other countries through established regional partners.
